To keep me safe when doing scary stuff, I used the following
a) Dedicated 32A plug and socket. All my test gear runs on standard plugs, the dangerous stuff uses a totally different plug so I don't get confused connecting the wrong thing.
b) Dedicated rewirable fuse box, for protecting any tails that I tap straight into the mains before the consumer unit.
Now can be yours for the price of the postage, I'm in the UK.
You'll notice the 32A socket has a 6A plug wired into the back to turn it into an adapter. It will take one minute to remove with a screwdriver and turn back into a wired socket.
