capacitors are also handy if you need a short burst of power at high current such as a spot welder, also to overcome resistance in motors etc and get them spinning. I've used these to get around low USB port current causing hard disks and other devices to misbehave.

I didn't bother to do the math myself, but see the approximate energy density comparison of batteries and capacitors:
In terms of energy density the best supercaps only approach the worst batteries. So if you want the caps to last a full game of airsoft you'll need those 838F as 2Spoons calculated, assuming the battery specs you listed are accurate Platinum. That's not practical of course so you need batteries for the bulk energy storage.
The argument for capacitors would be if you have a very "peaky" current draw which limits firing power or firing rate due to very high but discontinuous current draws. In this case capacitors in parallel with the battery can potentially improve the output current, but for a steady current draw the capacitors do nothing because the capacitors will soon be discharged and need to be recharged from the battery.
