As it is often useful to look at things from a different perspective, I want to invite you to join me in a little experiment. To put it in Wittgensteins terms: "the limits of my language mean the limits of my world." or for those who prefer the orwellian nomenclature: How about some newspeak, for the fun of it? Here's what I do: I have a browser plugin (foxreplace ) change every
global warming
into
<i>"global warming"</i>

I do think it will change the way I think about this term and and its proposed and manifest implications. The effect will of course wear off with time but then again we can still go back to normal to relive the oddity of "global warming".
Have fun

____ setup: create a file named "FoxReplace.xml" with the following content, then install the plugin and use the import function:
<substitutionlist version="0.12"> <group html="true"> <urls/> <substitutions> <substitution> <input type="text">"global warming"</input> <output>"<i>"global warming"</i>"</output> </substitution> </substitutions> </group> </substitutionlist>

Shouldn't you replace it with "global conspiracy which has corrupted all publicly available data sets world wide (except for a couple deep inland sites in the US)"?
