Pretty spectacular.
Are you running it from a 240 volt circuit?
Have you measured the primary current yet?
How does it vary as the arc climbs?

Your photo shows an accident waiting to kill someone. Where are your barrier guards?

A Tesla coil is one thing. That image could lead others to a lethal conclusion.

HOLY SHI- That is one HUGE jacob's ladder! OMFA Where did you get the pig? :< I want one.. lol. That... is... too epic. :P Next halloween, put that out... far from where you are giving out the candy. Tape their reactions. I got some pretty big reactions and tons of scared people with my tiny 7.5kv 30mA NST crappy ladder. I can only imagine what it would be like with that monster!

While visiting a fellow HV enthusiast with my 4 year old daughter, the guy opened up his garage and showed us his Jacob's Ladder. It looked almost exactly like this one. Those were some amazing arcs.

Like Klugesmith, I would really like some real time data synced to the video that shows the arc current as it climbs.

Wonderful! How long before the air in your garage became unbreathable? NO2 generation by that arc must be pretty bad.

I can imagine him just bursting out laughing after a while. *someone on the phone calls him* "
"What is that noise?"
"It's *bwahahahhah* my *heeehahaaa* Jacob's Ladder... *BWAHAHAHAHHHA!*

Then he gets axphyxiated and it isn't "funny" anymore. :P

I think when the arcs go Firery hot, the Ozone and such created is rather low, it gets burnt up or summin cheesey, the staticy arcs are the worst for Ozone

@ highvoltagechick: N2O is what makes you laugh (nitrous oxide), NO2 is a poisonous red gas (nitrogen dioxide.) Just wanted to clear that up before you (or a reader) try huffing jacobs ladder fumes lol.

Tom: I think you're right, high temp arcs make more NO2 while corona makes more ozone, or at least that's what I've experienced so far.

Teslajunky: 10kw, wow. very cool. I'm surprised your electrodes hold up. Have you tried it with longer electrodes for a higher climb?
