Hi all,
I'm creating a database system, but I have a problem. Each database record has a unique identifying number (Key Number). I have created a search function, which allows users to enter (part of) a keyword in a certain category; but I'd like the users to be able to enter for example 3 Key Numbers, preferrably separated by comma's, so that the each of the records gets displayed.

$selected is the category the user has selected, and $entered is the keyword he entered. The %-sign is a MySQL wildcard, so that a user can submit incomplete searches.
Does anyone know if it would be possible to edit the $entered variable that way, so that the correct records are getting displayed?

If I understand right, you need to select the records for each comma seperated value. As in acetic acid, uranium hexaflouride, sodium chloride Would yield three independent searches. Use the split function on the basis of a ',' and then trim it to get rid of whitespace on the ends. I would do these in a loop and you would end up with an array of the three molecules' data, or possibly do the "lots of code" for each one of those depending on how your program works rather than storing them in an array.
