A massive high capacitance MMC for a very low inductance DRSSTC that will be able to make some serious power arcs and suck both your wall socket while running and wallet dry in the making.

These are perfect for use as the tank cap in a large DRSSTC. I'm actually using the exact same caps for this purpose. I'm in need of some spares, you wouldn't have any for sale?
Using them in a marx would be a waste, they don't store all that much energy and the DC voltage rating is quite low. Where they really come to their right is as a DRSSTC tank cap, where they are pretty much perfect. An other advantage is that seriesing them is extremely simple. Just cut short pieces of a threaded rod that fits into the screw hole in each terminal, then screw them together.

hello guys, I have a lot of 4uF snubber cabs, I think 70 peaces, does somebody knows' a nice hobby project for it??
I have a couple of very large caps that are rated at 4KV each. Once is 100 uF, and the other is 40 uF. I built a charger for them, and I use a triggered spark gap to discharge them into various projects. One project is simply an exploding wire. You take a small length (about 1 or 2 CM) of 28 or 30 guage wire, and either explode it in air, or place the wire in a cup of water. When the wire explodes, the sound is about as loud as a gunshot. Another project is a disc launcher. Make a pancake coil with 12 or 14 guage enameled copper wire, and place any aluminum disc on it. When the spark gap fires, the disc will shoot into the air higher than the peak of my house. There are other things that you can do with a hv cap and a spark gap. Just let your imagination run wild!!!
