All of the flyback driver circuits out there are flawed

What's wrong with the ZVS?

Well, for a start, if you turn the power up too high, both FETs turn on at once and it explodes.

The diode drop plus the voltage drop across Rds(on) gets high enough that the "off" FET turns on slightly and starts to heat up. As it heats, its threshold voltage drops and it turns on harder, until it dies from overheating or VHF parasitic oscillations.

On top of that, it isn't even technically a flyback converter, it's a forward converter.

The topology the "zvs" driver uses is one of the few that are correct, but the gate drive is not ideal.

I thought it was a resonant converter since....resonance? P:

More like Quasi-resonant.
