drsstc driver board current draw

hey, just a quick question, how much power does a typical drsstc driver board consume? say i have a driver like steves drsstc3 driver.
to power the 5v section, the current is low because it is composed of logic ic's. but what about the 15v section? i am not looking for an exact answer, i just want to know how much current ucc3732x's draw in a typical drsstc application. it probably depends a lot on the gdt however...

Depends on the MOSFETs and frequency, but probably an amp or 2 RMS.

probly not more than 100ma average and 9 pulsed. the dip packages are only 400ma. usaly I add a 10 to 33 uf cap in parallel for energy storage

You can roughly estimate it by the gate charge from the transistor data sheet. 2*F*D*Transistor_count*Q should give J/s, which is A. Although this is a low end estimate since it disregards magnetization currents assuming you are using a GDT. If you were to use discrete floating drivers, it would actually be a very accurate estimate but I doubt that is the case based on your question.

Ok, this is just a question in case I hypothetically use a boost converter as the 15v source. I don't even know why I thought of it though, it's a complete waste as you have to be hooked up to mains anyways... Just thought I'd ask because it can't hurt to know.

And double that if you're using any gate resistance since half the power is lost there.
