I plan on using a SG3525 to drive a fullbridge of mosfets or IGBT's switching a flyback with homemade secondary.
Because I will be using a variable deadtime to control power, would I be able to use a GDT with 2 BJT totem poles? I havnt seen many full bridge flyback drivers, but the ones I have seen have not used a GDT, and I was wondering if this was due to flux-walking or something destructive when used with deadtime control.
GDT should work with a half/full bridge, but, I don't use them.
I prefer to use optocouplers + TC4420 drivers because I feel the result is more predictable, not frequency and duty cycle dependent.
That being said I have a 2.2KW 7.5V 300A EMS power supply on my desk that uses a full bridge made with 4 IGBTs and GDT to drive them. The control IC is a SG3526.
