I use transparency film and use light on photoresist positive boards. I've used that toner transfer paper to transfer circuit decals onto my eched board so I know the components. I've had variable success. Sometimes I get a good transfer; other times I get pieces.

What do you all do to get the circuit symbols and values on the etched board?

Ok some important things came up...

First, i found this source for my paper... -> Link2

Second, this and other sources claim that "Brother" toner wont work as its fundamentally different than everyother type/maker of laser printers.

Third, ive bought an HP and it transfered much easier, i am now figuring out the pressure and temp settings as i had some flattening of the HP toner, but here are the pics:

I have a 10 year old Brother laser printer that works just fine for toner transfer. Maybe they've changed in recent years.

I think its a past few year thing, like since 2009 or so.

I too, use a monochrome brother printer. I print to hig h gloss photo paper (got 300 sheets for $20 or so at staples closing). I just print it as Heavy, and iron to my board. Ive done things from 1" square to 10" square. as well as SMD 64-pin ATMEGA chips. never once had issues getting traces to transfer, always comes out great :)

To do double sided, i get acrylic of equal thickness and i stick it between my 2 papers. i shine a light through it, and match it up. I then tape it in place, remove the acrylic, and replace with pcb. It came out perfect, as i had a few 0.5mm holes that had to be PERFECT, and yeah. worked :D

thats interesting, when was the toner made for those boards that came out well? none of my Brother attempts worked, but all ofmy HP attempts worked, just need to get the heat right.
