After reading through Marko's threat.
Iv decided i would like to create a wireless power unit.
However Im seem to have a few Problems when createing a board of my own.
I was wondering if any one could help me?
Im just looking to re create marko s design and then when i have a working concept
just adapt for different applications for fun.

I have attatched the Eagle and also attatched them as Easy PC files too.
The Theoretical circuit diagram im using to create a PCB is sourced via marko.

I have created this PCB and finished the circuit. but i could not get it to work?
and im not too sure why. For the Reciever i used just a 24V bulb attatched to the same 15cm diameter circle of 6mm
Copper tube as was in the transmitter circuit. Yet it failed to work.
I even changed the Mosphets incase while soldering they had become damaged due to static.

Any help on finding my errors would be muchly appreciated.
Iv attatched marko s schmeatic which im trying to re create.

I also added a switch on the negative input instead of using a relay

Kind regards

The pcb looks fine, except for the fact that the traces connecting the caps (and maybe others) are going to melt. You really should solder the caps directly to the coil.
The only thing I can think of that would cause it to not work is bad MOSFETs, or MOSFETs with insufficient current capability. What MOSFETs are you using?

I also added a switch instead of the Relay marko has, just for ease at the moment until i can get it to operate.

Ok Thank you i shall make the tracks on the PCB alot bigger to hopefully prevent the melting occuring.

I did assume it could be the mophets but i thought switching them out for new ones may have solved it,
But for peice of mind im thinking of creating a fresh board and new components to ensure as little problems as possible.
I was just under the impression due to there being no illumination of a 24v 5w bulb on the reviever side that my board must be slightly wrong?
Im also not sure of the copper marko had used in his experiment it looks alot larger than the 6mm im using, and myabe this could affect it?

Hello,

What exactly is the problem you have? A bulb without a resonant capacitor is not likely to light much.

What does the circuit do? Does it short it's power supply? Indication on how much current it draws and what are you even using for the power supply would help as well.

You can test the circuit by using 10 turns of thin wire wound into a crude coil (wrap it around your palm or something) with a led attached to it.

I appreciate the replys thanks.

I hadnt attatched a capacitor, just a bulb for a proof of concept, but i shall solder a capacitor of 6.8nf to the receiver too?

I have only the First Transmitter i done with me. Iv since changed the ferite coils for a 100uh 3A like bellow;

http://www.google.co.uk/imgres? q=ferrite+coil+100uh&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1249&bih= 539&tbm=isch&tbnid=yK2PhbWjZcKWSM:&imgrefurl=http: //electronicplus.com/content/ProductPage.asp% 3Fmaincat%3Dind%26subcat% 3Dind&docid=6rAMmewpkHqbeM&imgurl=http:// electronicplus.com/images/products/ 387161.jpg&w=351&h=356&ei=KbgiT4rQH83c8gPP2aXkBw&z oom=1&iact=hc&vpx=522&vpy=84&dur=1228&hovh=226&hov w=223&tx=135&ty=114&sig=104614601787717595121&page =3&tbnh=158&tbnw=158&start=30&ndsp=18&ved=1t: 429,r:8,s:30

Similarly to the reveiver pictured, i used the same size copper tube with a diamter of 15cm with a 24v 5w bulb.

The mosphets did seem to oscillate but shorted a 0-15v 3Amp supply.

Iv now done a new PCB and had swapped the mosphets IRFZ44N for replacements incase they had blown.
But i seem to still be having no joy?

Hm, something must be wired wrong - why can I see only one power resistor?

Do you have eagle files and/or schematics of your setup?

Things i noticed:
-Inductors are pretty small
-power resistors are only 100ohms in schematic
-there only seems to be one power resistor in last pic
-mosfets have a funky pinout
-capacitors inside the coil, couldn't that induce some voltage in them?
-45W doesn't seem like a strong enough power supply for appreciable distance power transfer
-the board looks very nice

I haven't studied marko's original setup yet so perhaps some of my notes can be ignored.

Sorry for the delay, iv worked on my circuit and am still having the same problem.
Iv added updated pictures of the PCB i even uped the powersupply to a 15v 4A running it at 12v DC.
I added a switch which allowed the voltage to ramp up before activating the switch, which allowed the mosfets to oscillate.
However still couldnt get it to work?

8x Capacitors are the same, just one different due to it being a different manufacturer.

I also tried the method suggested with a few winds of wire attatched to a capaticor and led, but still nothing?
IV replaced mosfets, capacitors, resestors, even the board.
