Hi 4hv,
ive been wanting to build a DRSSTC for quite a while, my budget is £100 ($155.41) im after the biggest bang for buck, i dont have much of a clue on this exact topic

This IGBT A pair of CDE-942 capacitors from EVR Design a secondary to resonate at a couple hundred KHz. I'm not sure whether you'll be able to pull it off for $150...driver electronics get pretty damn expensive!

Depends on how gigantic the coil is and how much you have sitting around already. The driver is mostly just 74-series logic and some passives; if you have a healthy collection it shouldn't cost too much.
