Ammonium Perchlorate?

What a terrible waste of rocket fuel. o.0

Are you sure it wasn't Ammonium Persulphate?

Anyways, I've been using the paint pens as well for years and they are hands-down superior to markers, especially when you have to go back over an area that was thin. With a sharpie, it rubbs off the previous making that you did because it has terrible coverage.

Don't try peroxide + HCL and marker, the marker will just come right off during etch.

I also tried dilute Nitric because it eats the hell out of copper, but the Nitric will take the masking off in an instant, was a shame too. Would have been a great etch process if you mind the toxic Nitrous Oxide fumes and do it out doors, well.... the neighbors would probably still complain though.

Haha, you're right. Don't know where the perchlorate came from, but then again chemistry has never been one of my strong points.

Baked printer ink (seems that yellow works here) has been rumoured to work.

I refilled my Canon BJC a couple of days ago, seems to have worked.

First, what do you mean? using ink toner from inkjet/bubble jets?

second, for those of you who use the laser printer/glossy paper method, do you ever have problems with microscopic defects like pinhole-ing?

Link2 Many.

Ive been making them for a year+. I design in eagles. Print to high-gloss photopaper with laser printer. I hit it with an iron for under 1 minute, soak in water, remove paper, dip in ferric for about 10-15 mins, sand the black off the trace (i may start dremeling the solder pads because i like the black trace)...sometimes i apply blue solder mask, and yeah..done.

I bought over 50 boards from goldmine, 5x4 inch single sided, for 50 cents each when they had a blow-out sale. I never use a perf board or breadboard in my life now...I just etch the design, print, and works...Love it!

Yes killa-X i see your boards, they're great but i see your traces are sort of etched too, im trying to avoid that.

i bought the expensive paper for toner transfer so ill try that, then try the other papers, and compare the end result.
