What kind of capacitors are you looking to buy?

You might aswell make a proper plan then, other than just wanting to buy stuff for a DRSSTC.

Cost grows dramatically with the desired spark length when it comes to DRSSTCs

Yes, buy some 60kV Maxwell energy discharge capacitors, storing some 100 kj energy would give a good bang for the buck.

Bottomline : look at other coils to get an idea of what performance you want, then study and do a complete design. Dont just post in sales asking for others to dø your work.

I myself am in the process of my first DRSSTC and like Mads said bigger is always more. Have you built any coils in the past? You can build a SGTC (Not as awesome length yet, very vital for the basics) for next to nothing. Where IGBT's can be anywhere from 50 to well over 500. The CDE 942 capacitor seems to be one of the most used and they run from about 3 bucks.
