I bought a brand new graphics card for my desktop computer: My computer is a gateway with a pentium 4 processor running XP. I upgraded the PSU to 550 watts, and installed 2 gigs of ram several months ago. The card arrived from Newegg yesterday and my desktop exceeded all the minimum requirements. I have a cheap Nvidia graphics card in a PCI slot that became the primary one when I took out the old card in the AGP slot. Anyway I put in the new card and started up my computer. Then I put in the CD and installed the drivers. But when I went to make the graphics card the primary one the computer froze and rebooted. It tried to boot to the desktop a few times but then I got the blue screen of death. It says the problem is caused by the file "ati2dvag" and that "the device driver got stuck in an infinite loop." I went into safemode and did a system restore to the day before so the computer works now. I just don't understand why I got the BSOD if I havn't done anything wrong!? I'll return the card tomorrow I guess, but according to Newegg that was the best AGP video card I could buy for my computer :(

A pentium 4? AGP video card? XP? I think you need to do some serious upgrading if you can, that might solve quite a few problems.
It could have just been a loose connection on the card, or some dust in the connector or something. Seems likely it's just a driver issue, you could try looking for updated drivers, the ones that come on the CD are usually very old. As long as you don't get the BSOD again it doesn't really seem to be much of a problem.
