Hi All,
Well it has been a while since doing any tesla coil building. I have started building a new coil now and will have following specs:
8" x 36" secondary Flat Spiral Primary
Tank cap to be calculated.
Drive is a Steve Ward DRSSTC 1 board but will be modified to accept the Prediktor circuit Finn Hammer came up with. Bridge will be 4 CM600 running on GDT but this will be run from a remote H bridge to give current required.
Here is a pic of the interrupter which is just 555 timer but may become more advanced later for musical use.

Good luck Colin.
I started on mine last year but did not get very far. I'm up to 200W input power CW at the moment and still sorting the feedback circuit. I used Finn's predictor to start with and then went on from there.

Well things have ground to halt at present. I have stuffed the board all bar 2 resistors I think. Work is really busy and training courses etc also so no time at present. I plan to make the coil pretty large maybe something along lines of biggest in UK if possible but need to get something working properly on had sensible scale first.

With the amount of power you can push through a CM600 bridge, you should seriously consider a longer secondary, like atleast 150% of your original plan.
What fun is it to have a 1,8 meter tesla coil that can make 3-4 meter sparks, you will have to elevate the complete system to avoid constant groundsparks at much reduced length compared to what its capable of.
