I finally got my tesla coil working out with antenna feedback, but the antenna won't play nice when boxing it up. (for reference, I'm using Steve Ward's SSTC5 design)
The issue is that the antenna does not play well when being placed near the coil, as I'm trying to place everything into some sort of enclosure. By reading the forums, I found another person with a similar problem used base current feedback, but I have never used it before so I'd like to know if I can just swap it for the antenna or if any phasing considerations need to be performed.
Is there any specific core material that should be used (ferrite/powdered iron)? Is the turn ratio around 2 to 60, or am I well off the real value?
Any other tips regarding base current feedback would be appreciated, as I am nearly blank regarding this type of feedback.
Edit: What do you consider better, base current feedback, or the capacitor like antenna used here. (Or does anybody has a trick to place the antenna near the coil without making it stop)
