Hi, i have a Mazilli ZVS driver driven off of a 25v 10A transformer with an old AC flyback transformer that has a black tar like substance over it for insulation the problem I am having is the secondary of the flyback arcs over in air and under mineral oil the insulation on the secondary is being eaten away by the oil. So i was hoping for an alternative to mineral oil and heat might be an issue as well.

Specifically, beeswax has been used and shown good insulation characteristics too.

So, sre you all recommending that he use the mineral oil to remove the remaining tar-like stuff, then recover with beeswax?

Well I couldn't find beeswax so i put silicone caulking over the previous insulation and covered the flyback transformer in mineral oil and no arc overs now.

you could also make a cup or tank that hold oil...

like i did, then you can skip the caulk....
