Is it just me or is the number of posts per day going down? I remember a little while back ago that if you left the forum for more than an hour there would be several new threads in all the categories. Now there is only 1-2 new threads plus a few new posts in old threads each day.

Maybe it's just a slow week or just like me most the other members are too busy with work/school/projects to really spend much time on the forum anymore. (Except for an elite few)

I'm not really complaining. At least now I'm no longer swamped with new threads if I don't drop by in a day or so. I don’t think its much of a concern yet since there is some really high quality discussion still going on here I just wanted to bring up my little observation.

Well the more we post the the less stuff there is to talk about after weve already talked about it. I know thats not a very good excuse.

I have noticed it to be lower than usual too cry

I guess that is a good thing since now I spend less time reading about stuff and actuall doing it wink

I just hope that this isn't a sign of bad times for the future of the forum...

Well, I know its been busy here, plus I've not had money to spend on projects, and without projects, less to talk about.

I don't post much, and I have seen the same effect. I think it is partly due to the fact that we have a much better signup system, and since 4hv has been around so long, questions that people have have been answered, which I feel is a good thing. I'd post something about coilguns if there were really a question that I didn't feel was answered. I just have to say good job!

4HV traffic goes up and down over time. For a million reasons (like holidays, etc) it just does.

I reckon my rate of new project posts is about the same and is probably about one per week. In fact it was a little more recently.
In the last 6 weeks, 9 project threads were started: (laser galvos, zamboni batt, mag array, ball lightning, hand magneforming, HV supplies, coin shrinking, exploding wires, water arcs)
I also started non construction threads of mystery photos and 150th celebrations.

I am just about to complete a large single stage coilgun. So I'm doin' my bit.

Traffic typically peters off this time of year. People just have more interesting things to do than hide in their work shops for hours on end and then find their way to a computer.

There is plenty of stuff going on. Chris Russell, Alex, and I have a major project in the works as we speak. It promises to dramatically increase the exposure our community garners.

More details to come!

Dave
