Audio Modulation

I was wondering if someone could recommend a good beginners circuits for an audio modulated Class C Armstrong Oscillator Circuit. I have seen quite a few threads in regards to this but it seems as though all are of varying complexity. I am simply looking for a fairly simple staccato/or audio modulation for an 811 A Vttc. I am relatively new to electronics so if you guys have any insight or recommendations it would be much appreciated.
