That's pretty awesome, and I'm wondering how you got the SCR inverter to work - in a standard SEPIC converter, the current doen't fall to zero during normal operation.

Looking at his use of a choke, I suspect it might be a current fed inverter (much like a royer oscillator) which was apparently a common design in old SCR inverters, but I might be wrong, I'd like to see the schematics too!

Hi zilli,

Can you please post what are the component values in this schematic? Also, what is the design of the half bridge driver?

I thought to use a half bridge of thyristors to drive a transformer with series resonance on primary - this would allow the thyristors to commutate but the current and voltage would also go through roof if not limited somehow (or load being present all the time)

zilipoper I like your stuff because it looks like like you have a box of stuff that you throw together and it works magnificently. I have built a cuple of scr inverters and I never got them to work at that frequency. If you make a DRSSTC with a scr I would be impressed fully.
