Been awhile since i have done any updates on my coil mainly because ive been too busy with college and work. I got the time to go down to the geek group and get things tested out. Once Chris uploads the video, I will post it here. The video was to show the coil on its max power. 140VAC doubled to a halfbridge. The coil performed well. But it was only running at 500A, as it wouldnt go higher.

Some things i relise i need to fix, Fullbridge. A must for bigger sparks.
The primary waveform is all over, because its not solid tune, but its on the right ring. It looks like its over-tuned. At a lower power, it shows right. and im running a million cycles to try to push more power through the system.

Flashovers and racing sparks due to coupling.

I left this a broad intro, so people can ask questions if there's is any, so im going over stuff you want to know, and not talking about stuff thats of no interest.

Image 1, scope. Is overtuned. Each division is 500A, and my variac was at its max.

I owe special thanks to the following to get what I have.

Kizmo -- A lot of the math/calculations and general DRSSTC help over chat to get my coil performing
Chris Boden -- Providing the lab space to run such a thing, down at The Geek Group in Grand Rapids Michigan
Joe Simon -- Providing the thermal images which i took, to show the colors, i didnt aim at the hot spots as its obvious they are hot, i took images to show it more as an art...

And many other people i might have forgotten to mention.

Questions? Ask!

Added apologies for posting in HV not Tesla Coils.

This is the video showing how the test went. Not exactly how I wanted it to perform, but it was running Variac at its Max 140 volts.

Two videos that show the coil at ground level.

As you say its not correctly tuned, what you can also see from the poor performance compared to your long run times. Please give more details on the running parameters for the videos. Did you take any primary current shots?

Looking forward to see you twist all the juice from this fruit

I would like to see construction pictures and details around the base and such.

I like seeing how others got creative to some of the same problems we are all facing when building Tesla coils :)

The picture i posted above was from that long-run. I had my camera shooting at the scope for a video. If your interested, i will upload that video. But that image above is just a screen shot of the video. Each division is 500A, and thats how it looked during the run. Which clearly shows, its over-tuned. Its 2 ring ups, instead of 1. Which if im not mistaken, means its over tuned.

I do plan to play with coupling more, and eventually kick it to a fullbridge =) Just for now, until EVR is happy, i need to keep it as-is. Once done, i can rip his board apart, and build a fullbridge system =)

I will upload the more recent pictures, but here you can see previous work: Link2

But yeah, that was the longest run I have done with this coil, at its maximum power. The MMC wasnt even warm..The only things warm was just the primary wire and bridge rectifier. The rest, Nice =)
