Hallo, I own two secondaries - one having about 12cm diameter/60cm high, the other thinner (perhaps 9cm) and perhaps 40cm high.
Each on it's own has a pretty high fres, the smaller around 500kHz, the bigger perhaps around 330kHz, if I remember right. I'd like to switch with IGBT's. For the smaller one, that's pretty much outside range, even with a top load, for the bigger one it works somewhat (around 200kHz fres with top load), but still it's a stress.
I wonder now, can I just stack the smaller on top of the bigger secondary, assuming the two L's will add up and with the same top load will have a much lower fres? There would still be some 10-15cm of unwound tube pieces, between the two windings.
What adverse effects might that have? I also wonder, because I never saw that somewhere.
