I have several 6146B and I want to build a small VTTC with this tube.But I didn't find much information about VTTC using this tube.I have already seen this page but this design seems quite unusual in comparing with other VTTC and 1 inch spark doesn't seems impressive.Some PL509 VTTCs on youtube can achieve more than 2 inch sparks.
Can I use this tube in a tuned plate circuit like most VTTC and is it possible to get more than 2 inch sparks?How can I decide Rg1.Rg2 and Cg value?

Hi, if you have a 220-240 volt mains I would build a voltage multiplier for it. You will get the longest sparks if you pulse the cathode with a transistor interrupter. Supply the screen grid from a tap on the multiplier, in series with a resistor, try 10k ohm at several watts. For the grid lead network I would start with 100k ohm resistor and a 330 pF capacitor.

If I have a HV probe and a oscilloscope,can I scope the waveform to know if I found the correct grid resistor/capacitor value and the correct feedback coil turns?
