Sounds like an excuse for realizing the pricing error, i highly doubt someone actually bought all of them, unless that site and sale is years old by now.

If they actually were $4 each I wouldn't be surprised if someone bought them (they definitely have more than $4 of copper in them, so it would be equivalent to buying over $4 of money for $4). But most likely, it was just an excuse =(
