im using software called teslamap to design my SGTC coil. if you look at the pic youll see that it says optimum resonance cap is 5.3nF. and it also says optimum LTR static cap is 8.6nF. im a little confused. i had a 12nF bucket cap and when i saw that it should be 5.3nF i opened up the oily mess and cut wires to make it a 5.6nF. could someone please explain what the 2 values mean? i hope i dont need 8.6nF cause its too late to redo my bucket cap.

You should use 8.6 nF; 5.3 nF causes transformer destruction.
