Hello, is it OK to connect a "phase cut" power controller for a VTTC into the cathode like in the attached circuit? Every time the SCR fires, the tube will need to produce a high peak current to charge the tank capacitor up from zero volts to max - is this ok?
The reset diode is to make the timing circuit start from zero every cycle so the power can seamlessly be controlled from 0. (note: essential circuit parts may be missing in the schematic, it is just to illustrate the power controller. Please excuse my weird circuit drawing software.)
