Hi all.
Just acquired a broken Acer 75xx series laptop which has the (in)famous "Black Screen of Death"
Was wondering if the (identical type) BIOS from a ZG5 with a similar chipset would work? It only has to recognise the USB and keyboard, and I can then do a crisis reflash.
Has anyone else run into this problem? FWIW I tried the exact crisis reflash procedure and nothing... just flashes and flashes.
Thanks, -A

Acquired one through a friend after he decided a replacement was the best approach to fixing it. I'm afraid that he may have been correct. I tried flashing using different capacity flash drives and different formats in as many combinations I could physically arrange. Nothing brought it back... as for a BIOS swap, I doubt it.
I ended up scrapping the thing using the HDD in another machine, and using the LCD as a part of an FPGA project. The rest went to film documentation of the forces exerted by a binary explosive detonated by a high velocity rifle round.
