Steve Jobs died yesterday. For years, he had been suffering from pancreatic cancer, and he finally bit the dust... Not that I cared much for Apple--I don't like Macs much-- but Apple's influence on our technology today is insane. With competition, Windows and Linux have to really compete by putting out products quicker that are faster, better, cleaner, and more efficient. Apple's IPod has also changed the way we live. No one really says MP3 player anymore-- they say IPod. They do not say Zune, either. Apple pretty much pioneered computer technology. Now I am not much of an Apple fan, not at all, as I said, but I am probably the biggest Pixar fan ever. I love Pixar. And who started Pixar? The amazing Steve Jobs. He and some others started making movies even before they branded the company, and started working with Disney. I love all those movies too. He helped design Toy Story. It was the first movie to be made entirely by CGI, changing the world of computer animation as we know it. It is these reasons why I feel very sad (not crying sad, but still, sad) that he died. Steve Jobs was a god in computer engineering. Once again, Steve Jobs, 1955-2011. Its sad he didn't see the release of the IPhone5, but yeah...

I think they stopped but my brother has a zune with an iPod size screen. Similar features, they just suck (Android fan here)

As for the thread, Apple was competition that pushed Microsoft to shove out updates with a goal to beat apple. weather you like it or not, Apple has influenced computers, and we have Steve to thank for all he has done. What a great visionary.

Apple has had an imeasurable impact on how tech is done. Men and women of this quality, Hedy lamar, Howard hughes, Nikola tesla, Gorgo of Sparta, Jack Northrop, Steve Jobs, are few and far between.
