Pscg: I have no idea about the charger. I ordered it online, as I know little to nothing about designing my own circuits. Ill have to time it when its ready to fire again. during tests I would say approx about a 1-1.5 mins to charge.. (was supposed to charge at 40 j/s..)

Inducktion: It will be powered by a 3 cell, 3300Mah, 40c lipo battery pack.

i recognize that charger, it's from amazing1.com, personally I think they're a bit overpriced but hey thats my opinion. they have plans for there products, but again, they charge for it :(
come to think of it, they probably provided a schematic with it. care to share?

Yes, a schematic would be great if it is provided with the charger (or reverse - engineer the charger and make the schematic).

I have a big problem with the DC - DC converter i use for my project, so any help would be appreciated.

I actually recently made a regulated flyback converter (right now, it can output anywhere from 190 volts to 335volts) , if you would like to use it I can make a schematic. It's really easy to build!

No Schematic unfortunatly. I will post detailed pictures of the converter though. I know nothin of electrical engineering so hopefully one of you can reverse engineer and post the schematic..

mattmac: I knew i was gettin ripped off before i bought it. I didnt care though it was the only premade on i could find that fit a specs i needed... I put a beefy heastsink on the mofset and it seems to work better.

Yeah don't blame you. They are the only ones that seem to sell cap chargers for this application. fair enough, Really nice coilgun though!!! Well done!

tried out some automotive underbody spraypaint. wasnt sure how it would turn out. Its got a rubbery finish and is nice and flat black. I think it was a good call. I also have mounted the scr inside the frame and made a pvc stand so its a little easier to work on. Now just waiten for my emf diode and lipo to come in. then the wiring begins

40: How long does it usually take to recieve parts from vishay?

Diodes go after the SCR switch, connected antiparallel with the coil (not to conduct when the coilgun fires, only when back EMF is present).
