I'm looking for a low frequency Vibratory horn. I dont want the annoying high pitch ones, I want a low pitch. Something like a Simplex 4050 sounding one. Link2

What I want, is an indicator. So when I'm messing with ring launchers, railguns, or exploding stuff with 8KJ of capacitors, I can let people around me know (friends or whoever) that theres going to be a blast, launch, etc. I would love to have a nice loud buzzer to indicate that before firing, I would hate it to be this high pitch annoying buzzer. Of course I could just shout, but Its more fun to have the buzzer, if i can get ahold of one.

So if anyone has one, please get back to me, or shoot me a PM to discuss a price or trade. Thanks!

IIRC, the "low" horn from ford F-150 trucks sounds at roughly the same frequency. Old f-150s had a manly, dual tone horn, but now it's often just a wimpy "merrp" :-/

Do you think 440 Hz low enough?
(Hemi V8 engine at 4400 RPM, directly driving a compressor and chopper with 6 slots.)
This gadget should warn people within a safe distance.
30 kW is the acoustic output power.

Listen to a couple of the audio clips!

But that's a horn. I want a vibratory horn, like the video I showed. Its a low power mains powered thing which vibrates a plate of metal to make whatever frequency. I don't want an actual siren hehe

Yeah, I saw your video but couldn't resist going off track with the siren link.

We agree on the proper sound for an about-to-fire alert buzzer. smile

I DID have a nice loud vibratory horn like you are asking for -- it even had a plastic output horn.
Periodically I would try to sell it at our electronics flea market.
Don't remember if anybody ever bought it, or if it's still around in one of my junk boxes.

If you're still interested, I will look for it.
Rich

thats the type of alarm I am looking for to use with my capacitor bank - I wonder if Killa-x wants the same sound that the geek group uses with their "thumper". That horn in the original post sure sounds like it :)
