My Tesla coil is finished! I wanted a coil that can work for hours, so nothing is forced. The 811A can slightly turn red on maximum power, and the capacitors do slightly warm up, but no harm is done, even after one hour of working. See the power-regulator with the triac, it works perfect (not as expected tongue). It regulates the primary from 120V to 200V, and the output then gives a spark from about 2mm to 10cm. (The max and min values of the potentiometer are for regulation from 0 to 220V)

PS: - the lamp in the regulator is the primary of the microwave transformer. mistrust
- the 3 switches in the movie are to soft-start the 811A

Very nice tube coil. Did you find that the height of the tickler coil makes much difference in the output?

It makes almost no difference, but when it is too high, the coil does not start.

It is a lovely sound from a VTTC, have you considered a staccato controller to run lower BPS at a higher voltage?

I would also like to see a video of the spark output from a single breakout point

The metal ball is 10 cm (2.5 inch) diameter. The sparks are +/- 15 cm (6 inch) diameter. I can make the spark longer, but then the 811A turns red...

You should add a shut off timer of about two hours, and put a piece of black plastic near the spark gap (to cover it because it is too bright), so that you could fall asleep to the pretty sparks and the wonderful noise! Your coil produces the most pleasing noise from any Tesla Coil I've heard. I should build one... but I can't even get a spark gap coil to work ROFL. But very nice coil! I like how the sparks appear to "spin" as if it's on a rotary disk.

Spark gap??? You must mean the vacuum tube?

Thank you! In fact, it is a rotary disk!
