I'm looking for a decently sized motor... Around 700 - 1000 watts would be nice.

I'm trying to make an electric vehicle of some sort, a scooter, go kart, something along those lines.

I'll trade a bunch of stuff to get one, so just PM me if you have something in mind, and tell me some good info on it too!

Thanks for reading :D

If you can't find one, I recommend trying to source the motor from a forklift, apparently they are very heavy duty. This person put one in his car: Link2

Just for 'messng about' a used automobile starter motor is easy to power (battery & switch) and very cheap and quite powerful.
Probably the next cheapest would be r/c motors
I also like the look of eBay Chinese bicycle hub dc motors.
but four would cost more than a (very) used automobile!
I have five (one spare) 24V dc motors from German heavy duty printers that I kept for just such a project,
I still have them 20 years later!
You can have them for free but the postage would be horrific!

but like all hobby stuff, it would be cheaper to buy.
e.g. an old motorcycle and de-construct it.

P.S. used car batteries are rarely of any use for high power
that's why they're replaced.

I have access to powerful motors for compressors. They are heavy duty but run off AC.

... Just, to be clear, whenever I post something on the "sales and trade" section, I'm usually looking to trade something for one... I appreciate the advice, but, I live in a Suburban area, and don't have access to broken down forklifts. Or, money, to buy anything, which is why i'm always up for trades. Otherwise, I would've gotten one from ebay! 17, without a job, yeah...

It might be worth considering a starter motor from a motorcycle. Local scrapyard, Ebay, etc. (You can often find scrap motorcycles in the suburbs).

Wheelchair motors? I have quite a few pairs of them. I had an idea for an electric vehicle using a few AGM SLAs, but I scrapped the idea when the campus kind of treats that sort of thing as a full vehicle.
