Hi all.
Just started a new project, repairing a couple of fairly nice valve radios bought for £20 each.
One has obvious bad cracked valve, an EF41 in the RF stage. I have bypassed the broken power switch and apart from an unthreaded cord on the band switch it seems to work but with no output. Eye tube lights up faint green but obviously no little circle is seen so the RF stage would appear to be Tango Uniform.

I have the service manual here and it appears that all but one valve are getting heater voltage.
Is it best to just go ahead and replace the cracked valve all those nasty wax and paper capacitors? all the other parts look fine and nothing obviously fried underneath the chassis
The other radiogram has working gramophone but DOA radio, switches probably need cleaning.
Any tips? -A

replace the tube, it can't work without it!
Replace all old wax and electrolyte caps.
