I am making a Toroid out of Galvenized 3" Ducting. I have several design questions:
1. Can i fill the inside with foam insulation filler to prevent it from denting inwards? And if I do would it change the capacitance? 2. Can I spray the outer edge with a high temperature resistant spray paint even if its not conductive? Or would that effect it?
Thank you!
Would this work?
so if i attached the secondary JUST to the metalic paint would the outer coating act as the breakout?
Or what about tinfoil ... and if i put a high temperature Clear coat over the outer surface would it play a role too?

1) As I understand it, it is only the outer surface of your topload that adds to the capacitance.
2) In regards to the answer above, I am not sure if this is a problem, if you had a breakout point.
