Probes for Tektronix T935 35MHz 2 channel oscilloscope.

I recently bought this scope off of ebay and it doesn't come with probes. So I was wondering what kind of probes I should buy? I am a bit confused on what probes are compatible with the scope and what it means by 1x and 10x.

1x would mean the oscilliscope would recieve the same volts coming into the probe

10x would mean that the ocilliscope it reciving 1 volt for every 10v put into it

im not that sure though

i think ocilliscopes use BNC connectors so any scope probe with a BNC connector should be fine.

although im no leading expert

I can confirm that what Tom says is correct.

I'd like to add, however, that probes have a 'frequency response'.

I bought two probes after getting my 'scope from Ebay, one for £4.95, that is good to 20kHz, a nd one for £19.95 that is X1 and X10, and good for 100kHz or higher, if I remember correctly.

oh ok, thanks! Are there any connection types that you would recommend? I am on ebay and they rang from a lead with two aligator clips on the end, to a lead with just a probe on the end.

Does it say the range is 6MHz to 100MHz?

Does this mean they won't work below 6MHz?

Other than that they look fine.

The bandwidth of a normal probe depends on the divider setting. If you look at fast signals, always use the 10x setting.
