Hey, ive been looking around to find instructions on how to build an audio modulated tesla coil. So far i have had no luck because everything i come across is waaaay to advance. (i dont know much about sstc'c).
In recent projects i have built a nice big static gap tesla coil with impressive results for a beginner (~4ft) and an audio modulated plasma speaker powered by a flyback
I was thinking it would be cool if you used the audio modulated HV arc from the plasma speaker as the power supply to power the static gap tesla coil, just as you would a neon sign.
I thought it would be neat if the streamers from the tesla coil would then play the music put into the driver, but obviously its not that simple.... cuz lots of people woulda done it.
So i guess the point of this thread is just to ask why it wouldnt work, what would happen, and if anyone has very basic plasma tweeter or audio modulated sstc instructions for a beginner.

I might be wrong but I think that if you used the plasma speaker as a power supply it would ruin the components of the tesla coil due to the very high frequency of the plasma speaker. On the other hand, if you were to just skip the tesla coil stage you could design your own air cored or ferrite cored transformer for the plasma speaker that can withstand higher voltages and produce bigger arcs than the flyback driver.
