EBay has some HGTG30N69B3D's at $24.99 for a rail or 30...best price/IGBT I know of right now.

When I 'copy and paste' that part number to Ebay I get 'Your search returned 0 items'

Am I doing something wrong?

Seems I might have run into a stumbling block last night.

I did a fair bit of googling on ZVS and ZCS switching, and the results I got pretty much all said that if you want an H-bridge transformer to work at both heavy and light loading (short circuit and open circuit) you need 'active snubbing' on the output.

This means ,basically, connecting an IGBT to the secondary, at 50kV ???.

Surely there must be an alternative?

(EDIT: A low voltage, actively snubbed, 'third winding', maybe? to compensate for low loads.....Or am I on the 'wrong track'?)

connecting it to 50Kv is fine... really all you need is some good resistors :D

I'll look into it some more later...I did think about putting 50 in series smile

I'll post links to some of the articles I've been reading, too.

"Active snubbing" is definitely not essential, considering my transformer works without it.

Can you give us some more details about your transformer, Bwang?

Is there a thread on here about it?

What frequency does it run at?

Does the frequency vary with load?

What's the output voltage, etc?

Hello.
Here is mentioned TSC International.
I have ordered in U core ferrite 50ALL in small amounts from them through a site on 04/26/2011.
I have not received anything yet. Only promises to send the next week smile.
Is it the manufacturer or the seller?
Has anybody bought ferrite from them?

I think several here have, and they all complain about lead times, but they all seem to get them eventually.
