Would 40 gauge wire work for a mini SSTC? I wanna make a tiny SSTC but 40 gauge wire is all I have. The secondary would be about 1.5 inches in diameter and I would wind around 1200 turns. Think it would work?
The frequency of the secondary would be just under 600 kHz with topload, and my FETS can switch as fast as something like 3 MHz. I mainly wanna know if the wire is gonna be able to hold up in this application?

What power FETs are you using that can switch at 3MHz? Or is this Class-E?
Yeah, the actual frequency is lower now as I got more turns than I expected. The resonant frequency without topload is a little over 800 kHz, so I'm guessing something like 500 kHz or so with topload. I wanted to do a Class-E coil, but I'm not sure that tuning would be all too easy with the equipment I have...
