hi guys,

i was down the scrapyard and found this huge MOT in the moters bin a few weeks ago (its a transformer O_O)
i spent a few hours knocking out the shunts and left it there for a while,
today i was bored and decided to try power it with my half-finished powersupply (on projects thread)
after i discovered it blew the 13 amp fuse, i ran it off the balasted output of the supply and im getting huge flaming arcs
unfortunatly i cant get photos of the arc at the moment saddly but i got a few of the acctual transformer,

3 tabs on the primary? Is that a 120-0-120 MOT or something? Or is one tab grounding for easy core grounding?

Looks big to me! What's the weight?

Er, the poor thing already runs in saturation...don't saturate it even more.
