Hi all.

I am apologising to anyone I offended or upset in the chatroom(s).

As you know I have a tendency to go off at the deep end with politics, etc.
This is a common problem with people with Aspergers, but in my case I also
have other issues that are too complex to list here.

Part of the problem is that I also tend to overcomplicate things, to the extent
that a relatively simple issue (such as the battery virus problem) is an excuse
for me to go OMGWTF and assume that the end of the world will result.

Obviously people far smarter than me have made damn sure that this cannot
happen, no matter how much it may resemble another similar issue such as
the battery recalls due to cell contamination which IS a cause for minor concern.

If I have driven anyone away from the chatroom or elsewhere with my rantings,
that was never my intention.

I also tend to go completely bats**t crazy when things don't work and blame
cheap parts made elsewhere for my own inefficiencies.
This may be that my approach is "kludge it using second hand parts" even
though buying the right part would have saved weeks of wasted time.

Maybe this is because I am a cheapskate. Had I considered that the parts
could merely be bought for £5 and GUARANTEED to work, those "cheap"
used components with unknown history would rapidly head for the bin.
Inflicting them on someone else is just plain unkind, unless they happen
to need a specific part and don't care that it is 20 years old and covered in
rust and sawdust etc.

I also tend to go on about personal problems which do not belong on the
chatroom. This has been mentioned to me but it has taken me a while to
realise this.
Again I apologise to anyone I offended or upset.

Thanks to Bjorn, DaveB and others for helping me to realise that there are
other more important things than whinging just for the sake of it.
Building projects is far more important and sometimes you have to spend
some money to make it work although you CAN be strategic and select
only one major project to concentrate on at a time to reduce expenses.

Recycling dead/broken electronics is all very well as a means to itself, but
when that "cheap" equipment blows its top and takes the expensive drive
with it then it doesen't seem such good value any more.

Having had this happen more than once, I can see that scrapping a
potentially repairable PC because it is temperamental is a far wiser choice
than wasting days or weeks limping it along hoping it will fix itself. It won't.

Discuss.

Hey we all make mistakes and we all have our faults, the best thing you can do is learn from them.

We all enjoy your posts on here, Andre. You come up with some thought provoking concepts.

I apologise for not getting back to you about buying stuff from you. You have a lot of stuff I want, at good prices too.

I just wish I had a complete list, so I could save on postage by getting it all at once.

I'll try to PM you over the next couple of days.

Yeah, I think the problem is I have too much broken stuff, so its hard to sort out the good from the bad.
