Grid leak system?

 		im curently working on a 600W vttc using the QB 3/300 GA tetrode.

my question is, can i operate the coil without a gridleak system atached to G1 on the tube. i would only power it up to 1/4 of max power anyway, cuz i am missing a anode cap.

so can i operate the coil without a gridleak system, without cosing damage to the tube?

i will eventualy add one thow, but i need it to work within a few days. so will it work?
