I think I finally found some pretty good Silicone RTV potting compound at a reasonable price.

Its specs seem almost identical to that of Momentive Performance Materials' RTV12, but unlike RTV12, this stuff is supposedly available in small quantities. I'm told that a 1 pint kit is about $20.

Hopefully I'm going to find out for sure on Monday.

I'm wondering, if this stuff is available at this price, would anyone else here be interested in it?

I think it is.

I'm a little confused about this product. I'm trying to get some info from the manufacturer to verify whether or not it needs a primer. Note that on the product page it says "Self Bonding - No", whereas on the data sheet (pdf) it says "Self Bonding - Yes".

Being that all the other specs seem identical or very nearly identical to RTV12, which is advertised as "primerless", I'm going to guess that it is self-bonding to most materials, but I would like to hear it directly from the manufacturer.

Hmmm well at the top of the product page it says "self bonding" so the "no" at the bottom of the page must be an error I would think.

I might be willing to buy 1 or 2 pints, depending on specs and cost, let me check on my own chemical shelf...

When will you buy this material? Can i pay you via paypal?

Patrick, jpsmith123 -

Looks like it's physical and electrical properties are nearly identical to RTV12, but is this material distributed in the US? The ACC Silicones distributor network doesn't seem to cover North America.

$20 for a 1-pint kit, available in the US, seems too good to be true.
