How many of the people on this forum are engineers working within the power industry? I'm just curious as to the percentage. I'm a young engineer working in a consulting firm doing commercial building electrical design, so not really within the typical power discipline.

Thanks,
Daniel

What company do you work for, and how did you get into the industry?

I'm an automation engineer in a service company in Belgium

I'm working on big setups, pharma, agrochemicals, food, power, waste treatments etc...

the biggest installation I'm working at are a 40MW incineration plant feeding a 75kV line for the region, and an enormous lime kiln plant (horizontal rotative kilns of 250 meters long) eating megawatts of power...

too much stress and hassle, no extra hours paid, no advantages, only the passion of the field.. I'm currently in the process of quitting the job and work for IT departments as a system engineer in another service society in my region

will not quit without several components though, some really nice PFC cap banks are awaiting for me... (4700µ 2KVDC lytics ^^)
