My tiny tesla bade from a gas ignition burner . Note that teh spark gap is two cheap tile scorers 9 Tungsten Carbide) and they work really well Not pretty , no of my stuff ever is but it works well This is the real TESLA PIGEON except not You tube imitations 
Eectricians 100v insulated screwdriver is no match for the tiny tesla

Even 1000V Cat3 screw driver will flash over/through the handle

Yes I can also attest that 1000V screwdrivers are no protection, that`s no surprise though.
