hey,
could i use the zvs flyback driver circuit, as an induction heater driver? and i think induction heaters should operate at around 100khz, and since the induction heater coil would have a lower inductance than the flyback primary, the resonant frequency would be around 100khz. would this work?

the zvs most certainly works as an induction heater. it won't levitate any molten metals, but it'll turn ferrous objects red hot in a few seconds. you won't be able to predetermine the resonance frequency because it will depend on the size of the work piece. the lc circuit of the zvs is not only the inductor and the capacitor, but also the primary coil itself. when you move a ferromagnetic piece in or out of the coil it will change the inductance and thus the frequency. you might be able to get around this buy using a flyback core with a lc tank circuit on the secondary side (including the work coil,) but i'm not sure. there are plenty of threads on here, as well as user's websites, that have a wealth of information about zvs induction heaters.
