Thanks Linas.

I am taking a slightly different appoach using a module based system ( independent clock, stepper driver, photo and flash and "all done send pix to pc" trigger) each module sending or receiving the proper triggers with the uP aggregating signals and the logic to interface with the PC.

My application is also different being visible light photos not x-ray.

Anyone here has experience with OSCAR and its interface with Scilab (since Mathlab is too expensive, for me at least)

First test. 1h imaging time. X ray machine was able to hold it :)
250W input and 3,2s exposition.
now trying to reconstruct

That's really cool! amazed It's great that you got it all working.
If you used your camera for taking the pictures, did you shield it or did there seem to be no damage to the CCD?
Could you do a TV flyback with a capacitor in it just cause?

for now i don't know how to print integer
like:
int j;
j=3;
PrintToLCD(j);
For now just can print string frown

Can you make the int a string by concatenating a string onto it with the "+" operator?

i used switch and printing case as string, also made function for switch so i can send number, that function divide it and send it like string, and because cursor is advancing, i had no problem to print number.
Now i have nice working user UI for this, i can set lot of parameters at start, and then just press start :)

Very nice.
I'll be interested in the post processing for the reconstruction you end up using.
I am trying to get a test scanner with visible light (EGG flash and DLSR camera) to work out the processing interface and get a feel on how long it will take and how many pictures do I need for a given spatial resolution.

The first time I saw this thread I thought that it couldn't be done, and now I just wanted to stop by and congratulate you on proving me wrong! Is there no limit to what a simple hobbyist can achieve?

Beautiful work, as always.

Here is first reconstruction using entirely MatLab program:
Still, need to work out on picture capture quality and alignments :)
(it's very low resolution reconstruction. on axis is pixels)

congratulations, looks really cool! Can Matlab handle the perspective distortion of the projection?

just found this Link2

did you filter the x-rays, e.g. with an aluminium plate in front of the tube?
