Not fully proud of my 25KV fullwave 1A rectifier, because its large, since i stuffed my series diode inside 1/2" PVC pipe, 10" long, and painted it to LOOK like diodes. I put 25 1N4007's in series as close as possible. Then I put hotglue below and above, so the diodes where incased in hotglue, which then was shoved in PVC pipe for looks. Works great.

Now obviously this take up more room because its a long strand, but it would work good for a large CW or something i guess, making PVC shape diodes. Plus you could oil fill them too.
you stole my idea!!! Link2 cheesey cheesey cheesey

I found this document very useful when putting together my first HV rectifier: A Treatise on Designing High Voltage Rectifiers. Search for "treatise".

I think I read some discussion about not bothering with resistive voltage sharing since modern diodes somehow make this less necessary than it once was. Moreover, I think the capacitive transient sharing design portion is more pertinent when dealing with frequencies above the 1kHz range.

I designed and built my first 35kV, 350mA, full-wave bridge rectifier using these calculations, although I'm not equipped to tell whether my design is any better than without the resistive voltage sharing elements. I put together a handy Excel spreadsheet that helped me design various line-frequency rectifier stacks, if anyone's interested. Funny thing was that I eventually went with 4 of those Chinese 40kV, 1A brick rectifiers...

Hi Patrick I don't know if this will help but when I built my tripplers they came out looking like this. I wanted every thing to be as compact as pausible. if I wanted to have I could have sealed them in pvc and filled them with oil or perifin wax.

I stilll havent found a good source for iso propanol... any suggestions?
MG Chemicals 824-1G if youre feeling fancy and want anhydrous (they also have a 1L size available too)

Otherwise just go to the drug store and pick up 90% rubbing alcohol (make sure its unscented etc... ) and if youre concerned about moisture, bake the board afterwards, preferably immediately before covering in your encapsulation compound of choice, if youre going to be using any.

EDIT: totally missed that there is was a 3rd page -.-
