Hey everyone, is it possible to quiet the high pitched squeal of a flyback? I just built the final version of my ZVS capacitor charger and the high pitched squeal is a little annoying, even though its not really that loud. Anyway, is there anything I can do to make it quieter?

Yeah, it's actually a pretty simple fix. Just lower the capacitance of the main cap to a slightly lower one than what you have. You should be able to take a rough guess at what your frequency is based off of the values you have and an online resonant frequency calculator.

What induction said, simply increase the frequency by reducing the capacitor. Equations can be found here-http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/555timer.htm If you need an online calculator you need a math class. I wrote a program to do it for me faster and make generating charts easier. :)
