Well it looks like the CDE 942C20P15K is out of stock at most places, or overpriced quite a bit. Are there any other capacitors that feature the same reliability?

I think Dan McCauley sells them on his eastern voltage site.

Grenadier -

"Out of stock at most places"?? Where did you look?

CDE's website (CDE.com) has a useful search feature that tells you which distributor has parts in stock, how many, and the price. As of a few minutes ago:

Allied 60 $4.55 (25+ pieces)
Digi-Key 30 $5.48 (10+ pieces)
Richardson 1337 $3.63 (50+ pieces)
TTI 80 $5.85 (10+ pieces)

CDE's own stock shows 1,436 parts available on 6-6-11, and 3,761 parts available on 7-15-11.

To use CDE's search feature, enter the P/N in the "Part Search" box, then select the version you're interested in. Then, click "Avail Stock" to see the distributor info.

I've always purchased them through Richardson, and I think they will sell in lots smaller than 50 pieces at a slightly increased uinit price.

The 940C and 943C series are also great caps. I use them in almost all of my coils, never had a failure of an MMC.
